Take a ride on the Death Valley Brill Car No 5

Death Valley Railroad motor car No.5 was built by J.G. Brill in 1927.  It was used to transport tourists to Death Valley, so that they may avoid the difficult automobile travel in the desert.  After the Death Valley Railroad became defunct around 1930, it transported workers to the mills for US Potash Co. in Carlsbad, New Mexico until 1956.  A decade later it was brought back to Eastern California and then thoughfully restored by the Laws Museum volunteers  It's the only narrow gauge Brill car preserved in North America.
